GERMANY TRAVEL DAY 1

Germany Travel Diary – Day 1

germany1
My first day in Munich was a very laid back one. We arrived in the afternoon and decided to check the area near the hotel. We visited Karlsplatz then walked further ’till Merienplatz to see the clock at the Rathaus.
It’s impressive how many people around just enjoying a good beer or watching the come-and-go around the platz.
We got into the vibe and stopped at Paulaner for a traditional wurst, sauerkraut and weissbier.

The amount of Brazilian flags everywhere got my attention. I haven’t seen nothing like that in England. The germans were very warm hearted and the yellow-green flags definitely made me feel at home. After that I watched closely their performance in the world Cup and after they beat Brazil in the semifinals, they became my favorites for the cup (Germany, I forgive you for the 7-1. Your football is art and you won with elegance. As long as no one makes jokes about Brazil, I’m fine with it! hahaha).

Was also funny to observe the german way of doing things. The way they move, they walk and specially the way they look…it’s just like my grandma! I even thought maybe the waitress at Paulaner is a distant cousin? Maybe my small german heritage is not as small as I thought…
