How to find an agency using Google

One of the most influent factors in a model’s career is the agency she works with.
That being said, it’s important that you gather the most information as possible before contacting an agency.
I prepared a little tutorial to help you find a good agency using Google:
Google is your friend
- When you search for modeling agencies on Google, don’t forget to include your location in the search.

Finding a legit agency oceans of distance from you is useless if you have no experience. No one would advance a flight ticket or accommodations to a unexperienced person.
You gotta have a presentable portfolio and/or a good agent or scouter willing to invest on you in order to start an international career.
And if an over-seas agency approaches you with that intent, be careful. Agencies are not fairy godmothers who will make your dream come true. This is a business. And if it looks too good for the portfolio that you have to offer, it probably is.

Found an agency? Check the contact information on their website. If the address isn’t there, you can probably find it in other pages such as “About” pages, or the footer of the website. Is it in your city? Great!
- Now browse their casting: do the models there look professional?

Does their measurements fit the fashion industry’s standards? Do they have magazine shoots and campaigns instead of just “pretty photos”? If yes: you can put this agency on the contact list. If not: chances are this agency is not legit.
- Don’t contact the first agency you find.
Search for at least 10 agencies using this method. Then compare the castings and exclude all the agencies that smells like scam. Cut it down to 3 to 5, good, reliable agencies to send your material to. Send your polaroids along with 3 to 5 of the best pictures on your portfolio and your measurements.
